Wellness Center¶
The Wellness Center is located on the 2nd floor.

There is also a Wellness Nurse on the 3rd floor for the Reminiscence neighborhood.
Each Resident will be visited monthly by a Wellness Nurse for a physical check-up. Contact the Wellness Center with medical questions, blood pressure checks, weight checks, or to arrange home health, speech therapy, occupational therapy, or physical therapy.

Seeing a Doctor
If you would like to see one of the on-site doctors, check with the Wellness Office and the nurse can refer you to the physician of your choice.
Outside Physician Appointments¶
Important: Notify the Wellness Nurse First
The Wellness Nurse must be informed of all visits and consultations with outside physicians before you leave for the appointment. The Wellness Nurse will provide you with a Doctor's Visit Form to take with you — please ensure your physician fills it out and you bring it back to Sunrise.
Residents on our Medication Management Program who use outside physicians must have prescriptions filled by Omnicare Pharmacy (Sunrise's contracted pharmacy). Simply hand the prescription to the Wellness Nurse when you return. Residents who self-administer their own medication may also do so — medication must be stored in a locked box.
If you have any nursing concerns at any time, please:
- Stop by the Wellness Center
- Talk to the Medication Technician
- Let a care manager know
Note
The Wellness Center needs a complete and up-to-date list of all your medications.
Rehabilitation Services¶
Sunrise at Hunter Mill partners with a rehabilitation company providing on-site services:
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech-Language Pathology
To sign up for rehabilitation services, please contact the Wellness Office.
Call System Assistance¶

Pull cords are located in every room and bathroom. When you pull the cord, a signal is sent directly to the phones carried by care managers, identifying which resident requires assistance. You will also be given an individual call button to wear at all times.
Handle with care
If the call button is pressed too hard repeatedly, it may be damaged and could fail to relay your call. A replacement fee will be charged for damaged call buttons.
