Fire Drills

Fire drills are held regularly throughout the month. Staff will instruct and assist all residents during each drill.

Emergency Procedure

Please refer to the Fire Safety Plan and emergency procedure information posted on your suite door.


Call System

Pull cords are located in every room and bathroom. When pulled, a signal is sent directly to the phones carried by care managers, identifying which resident needs assistance.

You will also be provided with an individual call button to wear at all times.

Call Button Care

Do not press the call button too hard repeatedly — this can damage it and prevent your call from being relayed. A replacement fee applies for damaged call buttons.


Maintenance & Safety

Maintenance at work

The Maintenance Coordinator performs a safety inspection of all electrical equipment brought into the community by residents.

For any maintenance concerns in your suite, inform a care manager or the Concierge so the issue can be logged in the maintenance system.

Light Bulbs

Maintenance replaces bulbs in Sunrise-owned light fixtures. Residents are responsible for providing bulbs for any fixtures they have brought in themselves.
