Where do I sign in and out?

There is a sign-in/sign-out book near the Concierge's desk for guests visiting residents. There is a separate sign-out book for residents when leaving.

  • Sign out any time you leave the premises and sign in when you return — this is for safety.
  • If you will be out overnight, notify the Concierge and care managers so medications can be arranged (if you are on our Medication Program).
Can I have guests for meals? How do I make a reservation?

Yes! Guests are welcome for any meal. Please arrange with the Concierge at least 24 hours in advance (especially for 4 or more guests). Meal charges are added to your monthly bill.

What cable service does Hunter Mill use?

Hunter Mill uses COX Communications. Your family must order the cable subscription directly from COX.

Who do I tell about an outside doctor's appointment?

Before going to any outside doctor, notify the Wellness Nurse:

  • Assisted Living neighborhood: 2nd floor
  • Reminiscence neighborhood: 3rd floor

The nurse will give you a Doctor's Visit Form to take with you. Please have your physician complete it and bring it back to Sunrise.

What are the visiting hours?

Sunrise does not have set visiting hours — this is your home, and guests are welcome at any time.

Front doors are unlocked from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. After hours, guests may ring the bell at the front door.

How do I make a hair appointment?

Make an appointment at the Concierge desk or directly with the beautician. The hairstylist visits every Wednesday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Salon charges are added to your monthly bill.

How does the call button work?

Pull cords are located in every room and bathroom. Your individual call button can also be worn at all times. When activated, a signal is sent to care managers' phones.

Please handle the call button gently — repeated hard presses can damage it. See Safety & Emergency for more details.

What internet is available?

Wireless internet is available in all common areas.

How does laundry work?

Resident laundry is done twice per week (personal items and linens separately) unless otherwise specified. Self-service laundry rooms are available on the 2nd floor — detergent is free at the machine.

What is the key policy?

Each resident receives one suite key. Replacements cost $5.00. Keys must be returned to the Concierge upon move-out.

How is billing handled?

Bills are generated monthly from Sunrise's corporate billing office. Rent is billed in advance. Payment is due by the 1st of the month. See the Billing page for full details or contact Claudia Flores at Claudia.flores@sunriseseniorliving.com.
